Domestic Violence Program Batterer's Intervention Program Protocol
To facilitate the improvement in functioning and development of healthy relationship skills, communication skills, and conflict resolution skills necessary for each client to achieve meaningful, nonviolent interpersonal relationships and to improve the individual and the family's quality of life.
The program views abusive relationships with a power and control model and teaches clients new ways of thinking and behaving using a non-violent equity model of interpersonal relationships.
There are 8 major themes of the power and control model.
Each theme is covered in treatment over 4 different 1.5 hours group sessions.
