Typically, we are trained to be a parent by having a child. Parenting 101 isn’t part of the recommendations to graduate high school or college, but it is a life skill the majority of the world will need.
When your doctor finds out your pregnant a birthing class is always suggested, but it most often ends there.
The news of pregnancy is often met with overjoy mixed with fear of the unknown. One question etches itself onto the mind of first expecting parents:
Am I going to be a great parent, as good as or better than my own? How often have you heard someone say…I’m not going to be like my parents…
Being a parent is more than intuition, hands-on training, and a desire to be better than your own parents. For many parenting is second nature as if it is coded into us at birth. These are the parent’s people refer to as a “natural.” Other parents struggle and eventually get it.
But all parents have questions and concerns that just aren’t easy to figure out. Not only do we not know exactly what to do in certain situations, our children definitely didn’t get the –how to be well-behaved, in all situations memo.
There is an easy solution to help prepare you to fulfill your duty to your child and family and it is found by enrolling in Parenting training at The PAC Program. You can attend one of our convenient locations once a week for an hour.
